The full review

Four major institutions under one roof: a natural history museum, an aquarium with the largest coral reef on display in any US museum, a planetarium dome, and a four-story enclosed Costa Rican rainforest with a glass canopy walk and a basement-level Amazon flooded forest. The roof itself, planted with native California species, is open to visitors.

NightLife on Thursdays (21+, ticketed separately) turns the whole museum into an after-hours venue with cocktails.
