The full review

By Gardner's will, the collection is displayed exactly as she arranged it in 1903 — no labels on most works, no rearrangement, no replacement of the 13 paintings stolen in the 1990 robbery (still unsolved, the largest art theft in history). The empty frames where Vermeer's The Concert and three Rembrandts once hung are still there. The interior courtyard with its four-season floral installation is the architectural highlight.
