The full review
Founded 1858 as a teaching collection for the College of Physicians and now one of the country's strangest museums. Specimens include the Hyrtl Skull Collection (139 craniums for racial anatomy comparisons, an artifact of 19th-century pseudoscience), the Soap Lady (a body that saponified in the soil), tissue samples from Einstein's brain, and a wall of inhaled foreign objects extracted from Philadelphia patients between 1900 and 1930. Photography is prohibited inside.
