The full review

The Whitney moved from the Upper East Side to the Meatpacking District in 2015, and the new Renzo Piano building has been the right fit for the collection: outdoor terraces on every level, generous gallery heights, an entrance that pours visitors out onto the foot of the High Line. The biennial — every other year — is the closest thing American contemporary art has to a regular cultural event.
